Giving Back to Community
Although our job is to help injured workers, patients and consumers, we believe it is our responsibility to give back to our community. We do this through participating in local events and projects, as well as supporting charities and organizations. By investing our time and resources, we want to help build a better community. One rewarding effort we have been proud to take part in is our playground safety initiative in Washington County, PA.

Joseph P. Moschetta
After earning his law degree and being discharged from the U.S. Army, Mr. Moschetta volunteered to represent indigents in criminal matters. He served as the first Public Defender of Washington County in 1969. Since then, Mr. Moschetta has been involved with many organizations dedicated to assisting at-risk youth and children with learning and behavioral problems. From 1975 to 1985, Mr. Moschetta served on the Board of Trustees of Craig House-Technoma, now Craig/Friendship Academy of the Watson Institute. Craig House specializes in educating children and teens with learning disabilities and severe behavioral disorders.
Recognizing that a substantial portion of our population was being denied legal counsel in civil cases (custody, protection from abuse, divorce, etc.), Mr. Moschetta became involved with Pennsylvania Legal Aide Network as a member of Southwestern Pa Legal Aid Services. He served as the President of Southwestern Pa Legal Services from 1994 to 2009.
Stephen P. Moschetta
While in law school, Mr. Moschetta volunteered as a Student Bar Association to help prepare first-year law students for their final exams. Upon returning to Washington, Pennsylvania, he became involved with Habitat for Humanity Allegheny Valley through the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. He later organized a group of attorneys and judges representing the Washington County Bar Association (“Lawyers on Ladders”) who periodically volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Washington County.
Mr. Moschetta is a frequent presenter/instructor at the “People’s Law School”, a program provided to interested citizens in Washington County that is sponsored by the Washington County Bar Association. General legal information is provided in various Seminars on topics such as Wills and Estates, Landlord-Tenant law, Civil litigation and other types of law.
Given the need to help the growing number of children and teens diagnosed with severe learning disability, Mr. Moschetta became involved with Landmark College as a member of its Board of Trustees. Landmark College is a two-year liberal arts institution of higher education in Putney, Vermont, serving students with learning disabilities and attention deficit disorders. Landmark provides highly accessible approaches to learning that empower individuals who learn differently to exceed their aspirations and to achieve their greatest potential. Through the Landmark College Institute for Research and Training, which engages in and supports research relevant to the field, the College aims to extend its mission across the nation and throughout the world.
